Meet the team: Edward

I joined GKN Aerospace 44 years ago. I’m a Fabrication Operator and I oversee 5 Operators. I form windows from acrylic and feed these into different program lines, which are then worked on for different aircrafts. I produce canopies for the F18 and passenger cabin windows for our whole facility at our Garden Grove site.

One of my best experiences working here was an amazing opportunity to collaborate and support a project to design a tool that formed the wing tip lenses. It was a fun and rewarding experience. When people ask for my opinion, I feel valued and proud! I’m happy to share my knowledge with others.

Environmental sustainability is also important for us, we reduce the scrap production by catching material wastage in the early stages.

Safety is important to me because we keep our people safe here and with trust, we work as one team to make safe aircrafts. Our people are heart of GKN Aerospace. We look after each other and we’re like a family.

Environmental sustainability is also important for us, we reduce the scrap production by catching material wastage in the early stages. So, if anything can be fixed or modified to reduce wastage I can do that and this is my contribution to making aerospace sustainable.

I really enjoy working here and plan on staying until I retire in 7 years. My dream is then to a purchase a RV and then explore the whole of California.
